Digital Killed the Record Store
Whatever damage video inflicted on the radio star, it hardly compares to what digital has done to the record store. Ian's not complaining exactly—after all, he loves his blogs and mp3s as much as the next band—but he does very much miss the days of congregating at the record store and searching through its bins. And this is his wistful spin on remembering and looking ahead to celebrating Record Store Day!

William Bell May 12 New York City at the Beacon Theatre.
The newly formed Warren Haynes Band announces its inaugural tour beginning with an April gig at Florida’s Wanee Festival and wrapping in July at the Cahors Blues Festival in France. The Gov’t Mule / Allman Brothers Band guitarist’s latest project is an R&B-infused group featuring bassist Ron Johnson, Terence Higgins on drums, keyboardist Nigel Hall and Ruthie Foster on backing vocals. For the band’s May 12 New York City debut at the Beacon Theatre, Haynes & company will be joined by Stax Records legend William Bell. The singer is known for his trademark gravel-and-honey voice on hits like “Trying To Love Two” and his duet with Judy Clay called “Private Number” as well as co-writing “Born Under A Bad Sign” with Booker T. Jones.
